Why does SEOmise say my website looks like a business?

Short answerFree and Personal are for personal websites. SEOmise looks at your website when you sign up, when you add one or make one active, and every month on Free and Personal. If it looks like a business or a shop, you choose Business, or ask for a review (or, where SEOmise allows it, confirm that it is your personal website).

What the check looks at

The home page of your website: business structured data, a phone number, an address, opening hours, services and quotes, company details, or a shop platform with a basket. If it is not sure, nothing happens.

When it runs

  • When you sign up, on the website step.
  • When you add a website, or make a draft website active, on every package, Free too.
  • Every month (by default) on the active website of Free and Personal workspaces.

What you can do

  • Choose Business: the button goes straight to its checkout.
  • We got it wrong? Ask for a review: tell us a few words about your website. Our team looks at it and replies by e-mail, usually within one working day.
  • Where SEOmise has switched this on, It is my personal website: you confirm it, and your answer is recorded. The monthly check still runs; if your website still looks like a business at a later check, our team reviews it.

A newly added website that looks like a business on Free or Personal waits as a draft until you choose. A website that already runs keeps running while we look at it.
