Acceptable Use Policy
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses SEOmise, including people invited to a workspace or a shared project.
1. Only what you are allowed to manage
- Add only websites, Search Console properties, Analytics properties, Google Business Profiles, app listings and other accounts that you own or that their owner has authorised you to manage.
- Connect a connector (WordPress, Laravel or universal) only to a site you control, and approve only changes you are entitled to make.
- If you are an agency, have your client's permission for everything you do in their projects (see the Agency and Reseller Terms).
2. White-hat SEO only
SEOmise follows the published guidelines of the search engines and app stores. You must not use it to:
- create or place spam, doorway pages, hidden text or links, cloaking or sneaky redirects;
- buy, sell or exchange links meant to pass ranking credit without labelling them (placements through SEOmise are labelled as sponsored);
- mass-produce low-value pages or AI text to manipulate rankings;
- post fake, paid-for or incentivised reviews, gate reviews, or create fake or misleading Business Profile locations;
- impersonate another business or person, or copy their content without permission;
- publish anything illegal, defamatory, hateful, or that infringes someone's rights.
3. Respect other websites and our service
- Do not use our crawler, audits, rank checks or connectors to attack, overload or scrape a site you are not authorised to audit. Our crawler respects robots.txt and identifies itself as SEOmiseBot.
- Do not try to get around rate limits, credit charges, plan limits or the free-audit limit, or create several accounts to do so.
- Do not probe SEOmise for weaknesses except under our vulnerability disclosure policy, and never try to reach another workspace's data.
- Do not upload malware, or anything you do not have the right to share.
- Do not resell, re-export or build a competing data set from data SEOmise shows you, except as the Agency and Reseller Terms allow.
4. Free audit, Ask Mise and pop-ups
- The free audit is for checking a website you are interested in, within the daily limit (1 a day per visitor). No automated or bulk use, and no competitor surveys at scale.
- Do not give Ask Mise or a pop-up someone else's name, e-mail address or phone number.
- Do not use Ask Mise to try to make it reveal its instructions, other people's data or anything other than help with SEOmise.
- Do not misuse discount codes: personal codes are for the person they were sent to and can be used once.
5. AI features
- Review AI output before you approve it. You are responsible for what you publish.
- Do not use AI features to create misleading, harmful or illegal content, or to pass off AI text as a person's genuine review or opinion.
6. People and reputation
Do not use SEOmise to harass, profile or expose private individuals, or to monitor anyone you have no lawful reason to monitor.
7. What happens if these rules are broken
We may remove content, stop a change, pause a feature, or suspend a workspace or a person, depending on how serious it is. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. A serious or repeated breach can end the contract. We may report illegal activity to the authorities.
8. Reporting misuse
If you see SEOmise being misused, contact us by e-mail at [email protected]. For security problems, see our security page.
