App SEO

Get your app found in the App Store and Google Play

App SEO reads your store listing, scores it with its own app store rules, tracks where you rank in store search and writes a better listing with AI.

Why it matters

From the problem to what SEOmise does

The problem

Good apps get lost in the stores

Store search reads your app's name and description, and people decide from the first lines and screenshots. A name that is cut off, a wall of text or "bug fixes" as the only release note make an app harder to find and to choose.

What App SEO does

Get your app found in the App Store and Google Play

  • Name and description. Whether the name fits in 30 characters and says what the app does, and whether the description opens well, is long enough and is easy to read.
  • Screenshots and icon. At least five screenshots, iPad screenshots when the app runs on iPad, and an icon.
  • Ratings. The average rating and how many people have rated the app.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

  1. Add your appPaste its App Store or Google Play link, or find an App Store app by name. A project can follow up to five apps.
  2. We read the listingName, description, screenshots, ratings, last update and languages, as the store shows them in public. What a store does not show is left out of the score, never guessed.
  3. You get a score and fixesA score out of 100 and a score for each of four topics, with the fixes that add the most first.
  4. AI writes a better listingA new name, subtitle, keyword field, short description, promotional text, description opening and screenshot captions, within each store's limits.

Features

What you get with App SEO

Name and description

Whether the name fits in 30 characters and says what the app does, and whether the description opens well, is long enough and is easy to read.

Screenshots and icon

At least five screenshots, iPad screenshots when the app runs on iPad, and an icon.

Ratings

The average rating and how many people have rated the app.

Updates and languages

How long since the last update, whether the release notes say what changed, and how many languages the listing has.

App Store ranks

Up to ten searches per app, checked in the app's country: your place in the first 200 results, the apps ahead of you and how far you moved since the last check.

Google Play ranks

The same up to ten searches in Google Play, in the app's country and language, where the platform has connected a licensed data provider for them. Google Play has no public search, so these figures are third-party estimates and each search checked uses one of your plan's Google Play rank checks, then credits.

AI listing text

Written from your listing and the searches you want, keeping your brand name exactly. It never adds features, awards, user numbers or ratings the listing does not have.

Also worth doing

Advice the public listing cannot show, such as Apple's keyword field, a preview video and replying to reviews. It is listed, not scored.

Change since last week

Every app is checked again once a week on its own, with how far the score and each search moved since last week. An e-mail says when the score falls or a search drops out of the results.

Questions

App SEO: common questions

Does App SEO change my store listing?

No. SEOmise reads the public listing and writes suggestions. You paste what you like into App Store Connect or the Google Play Console.

Can it track my Google Play ranks?

Yes, where the platform has connected a data provider for them. Google Play has no public search to read ranks from, so they come from a licensed data provider, checked in the app's country and language as deep as the first 200 results. Each search checked uses one of your plan's Google Play rank checks, then credits. Without a provider, Google Play listings are still read, checked and scored, and the Ranks tab says ranks are not tracked yet.

Why are some Google Play checks not scored?

Google Play has no public listing API, so SEOmise reads the public store page. Anything that page does not show, such as release notes or languages, is left out of the score rather than guessed.

Can it see my App Store keyword field?

No. Apple keeps the subtitle and keyword field private, so they appear as advice and are not scored. The AI can still write a keyword field for you to paste in.

Does it check my app automatically?

Yes. Every app is checked again once a week on its own (listing, score and ranks), each at its own time in the week, and the App SEO page shows what changed since last week. A switch per app turns it off. You can still run a check yourself whenever you want, up to a daily limit for each app.

Do I need a website?

No. You can sign up with just an app, and a project without a website opens on its app.
