Which networks does Social post to by itself, and how do I connect them?

Short answerGoogle Business Profile posts by itself for a location connected to Google in SEOmise. Facebook Pages, Instagram business accounts and LinkedIn post by themselves once those networks approve SEOmise's app: until then they carry the Beta badge, work in manual mode, and Social → Channels offers "Ask for early access". Every other network works in manual mode.

Every network works in manual mode: at the posting time you get the post ready to copy, its pictures to download and a button to open the network, then you press Mark as posted. Some networks can also post by themselves.

Google Business Profile

Connect the location to Google first (Local → Google Business Profile). Then in Social → Channels → Add a channel, choose Google Business Profile and the location: posts to it go out by themselves through SEOmise's Google posts, and the location's own approval rule still applies. The link of a post becomes its Learn more button; one picture is sent.

Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn

Automatic posting to these networks starts once Meta and LinkedIn approve SEOmise's app. Until then:

  • add the channel in manual mode; it carries the Beta badge;
  • choose the network under Add a channel and press Ask for early access: we e-mail you as soon as it posts by itself (asking twice is fine; we keep one request).

Once a network is switched on, Add a channel shows Connect Facebook and Instagram or Connect LinkedIn. Sign in to the network, come back to SEOmise and choose the Pages, Instagram business accounts, profile or pages to add. What goes out by itself:

  • Facebook Page: the text with a link, or the text with one picture, and the first comment;
  • Instagram: one picture with its caption, and the first comment (Instagram needs a picture);
  • LinkedIn: the text; a post with pictures or a first comment stays in manual mode.

A post that a network cannot take by itself (more pictures than it sends, for example) is never cut: you get the reminder to post it yourself.

Sign-ins

Sign-ins are stored encrypted and never shown again. A channel warns you a week before its sign-in runs out; after that its posts fall back to reminders until you connect again. Forget the sign-in under Network sign-ins removes it; its channels stay, in manual mode.

X, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon

These work in manual mode. Add the channel's profile address so Open goes straight to it (for Mastodon, your own server).
