How do I use the tools on "See the magic"?

Short answerSee the magic draws your website as a map and lets you run tools on it: orphan pages with the pages that should link to them, link strength, click depth, broken links and redirects, duplicate and thin pages, indexing and the sitemap, sections, traffic and the shortest path from the home page. Choose pages on the map or in the list and fix them the three ways. The tools are free: they use your latest scan.

Updated 21 October 2026

See the magic, in the top bar, draws every page of your latest scan as a dot and every internal link as a line. Beside the map are three tabs: Tools, List and Views. It works the same whatever your website is built with.

Run a tool

Open Tools, read what a tool checks, and press Run. Each tool says what it costs before you run it: every tool here is free, because it uses data SEOmise already has (your latest scan, the website check's issues, and Google data or Live view visits where they are connected). The answer is drawn on the map, a sentence says what was found, and the List tab ranks the pages, the most important first.

  • Orphan finder: pages no page on your site links to (only your sitemap knows them). Each comes with up to five pages likely to link to it, chosen from the words of the titles, main headings and addresses, the same section and how strong the page is. Dotted green lines show the two best on the map.
  • Link equity (internal PageRank): dots are sized by internal authority, 0 to 100. Pages with traffic, conversions or a position of 4 to 20 that few links reach are flagged; without Search Console or tracked keywords it says what to connect.
  • Click depth: dots are coloured by the clicks from the home page; pages deeper than the depth you choose (3 unless your administrator changed it) are listed.
  • Broken links and redirect chains: red lines lead to pages that answer with an error, amber dashed lines to addresses that redirect; a redirect that leads to another redirect is listed as a chain with its number of hops.
  • Thin and duplicate content: pages that share a title or a description are grouped and coloured together, with pages under the thin line (150 words unless changed).
  • Indexability and the sitemap: pages your site links to that search engines are told not to index, and indexable pages missing from the sitemap (when the scan found a sitemap).
  • Topic clusters and sections: each section in its own colour, with how many of its pages other sections link to. A section reached mostly from inside is weakly linked.
  • Traffic overlay: dots sized by clicks from Search Console, sessions from Google Analytics or Live view visits, whichever is connected. Without one, it says so and links to Google data; nothing is made up.
  • Shortest path: the fewest clicks from the home page to the page you choose, drawn in blue with each step listed. Press Path from home in a page's panel, or click a dot while the tool is on.

The four buttons Status, Issues, Traffic and Sections are ready-made starting points: each colours the map and runs the tool that answers its question (broken links, duplicates, traffic, sections). You can change anything afterwards.

Filter and find pages

Type part of an address or a title in the search box. Filters narrows the map and the list by status, indexable or not, clicks from the home page, words, section, an issue and traffic. Pages that do not match fade on the map; the count says how many match.

Choose pages

Tick pages in the list, hold Shift (or Ctrl or Cmd) and click dots, or press Lasso and draw a loop round them (Shift and drag works too). The map and the list stay in step: a page chosen in one is chosen in the other. Choose N to fix above a tool's list takes every page it found that can be fixed.

With pages chosen, the bar under the map offers Focus (only those pages, or one page with its neighbours), Hide (take them off the map; Show N hidden brings them back) and Clear.

Fix them

For the chosen pages the bar shows the three ways to fix, the same as everywhere in SEOmise:

  • I'll fix it myself: the exact steps for your site's platform, then Mark as done and SEOmise checks the pages again.
  • Help me do it: step by step, with drafts you approve one at a time where a draft fits.
  • Do it for me: through the fix jar or Fix with AI, with the price in credits shown before anything starts and your approval before anything is published.

Add N to the fix jar collects the chosen pages' fixes in the jar, where Fix all shows the price and asks for approval. One action takes up to 25 pages unless your administrator changed it. People whose role can only look see why they cannot add fixes. Staff viewing your account as you cannot change anything.

Save and share a view

Open Views, give the view a name and press Save view. A view keeps the tool, the filters, the highlights and the hidden pages. It is yours alone unless you tick Share with my workspace (people who manage the project can share). The copy button gives a link that opens the view for anyone in your workspace who can open the project (or only for you, until it is shared).

Full screen and phones

Full screen fills the screen with the map, the tools and the list; Esc or Leave full screen goes back. On a phone the list comes first and the map is the second tab.

Large sites

The map draws up to 1,500 pages (a setting): the strongest pages, every orphan and every page with traffic. The tools always check every page of the scan, and their lists include pages that are not drawn; opening one adds it to the map.
