How do I plan and post to social media with Social?

Short answerSocial → Channels: add the Pages, profiles and accounts you post to (any network works in manual mode). Write a post once, adjust it per network, and Add to queue (your next posting time), Share now or Schedule for a time. At the time SEOmise posts it on networks with an approved connection, or reminds you with the post ready to copy; then press "Mark as posted". The calendar, ideas, approvals and insights are one tab away.

Social is in the workspace menu.

Channels

Under Channels, add each Page, profile or account you post to:

  • Manual mode works for every network today (Facebook Pages, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, X, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon): give it a name. Manual channels carry the Beta badge.
  • Automatic posting needs the network's approval of SEOmise's app. Google Business Profile posts automatically when you add a location that is connected to Google in SEOmise (its own approval rule still applies). Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn show a Connect button once SEOmise's app is approved for them: sign in, then add your Pages, Instagram accounts, profile or pages.
  • Each channel has posting times: days and times in your workspace's time zone. New channels start with weekdays at 09:00, 12:30 and 17:00.
  • A channel can belong to a project, have its profile address (where Open goes), be paused or removed. Your plan sets how many channels you can have.

Writing a post

Press New post on the queue:

  • tick the channels; each network's character limit and picture rules show as you type, and a problem (too long, no picture for Instagram) stops the post until it is fixed;
  • the tab of a channel holds its own text and first comment, if you want different words there;
  • Pictures come from your media library (or upload one into it); videos are added on the network itself;
  • a link shows its title and description as a preview;
  • Emoji, and AI help: Rewrite, Shorter, Add hashtags or One per network, paid with credits. Read what the AI wrote before you post.

Then Add to queue (the next free posting time of each channel), Share now, Schedule for a time, or Save as draft.

The queue and the calendar

Queue lists what goes out next, by day; choose a channel to see only its queue and drag posts (or use ↑ ↓) to swap their times. Drafts, posts waiting for approval, posted ones and ones not sent are one click away. Calendar shows the week or the month; drag a post to another day to move it.

Manual posting

At the posting time you get a reminder in the app and by e-mail (as your notification choices say). The post shows Time to post with Copy text, Download picture and Open the network. Post it there, then press Mark as posted (you can paste the post's address). A post not marked an hour after its time shows as Overdue.

Approvals

Under Channels → Workspace settings switch on Posts need approval. Posts from people who do not approve then wait; people with the Approver, Admin or Owner role (a client's own approvers for their projects) Approve or Ask for changes with a note. Changing an approved post asks for approval again, and nothing is sent before it is approved.

Every post has Comments (on its card, and in the composer when you edit it): the author and the approvers can talk it through there, and the approval steps (approval asked, changes asked with the note, approved) show in between. People who wrote, approved or commented on the post hear about a new comment; you can delete your own comment.

Ideas and insights

Ideas is a board of notes; Make it a post opens the composer with the idea. Insights counts the posts posted per channel and week, automatically and by hand.

How long posts are kept

Posts that went out, or could not be sent, are deleted with their comments two years after their last change (staff can change this). Drafts and posts still waiting are never deleted by themselves.
