How do I ask my customers for Google reviews?

Short answerUse Tools → Review booster: set up your Google review link, add the customers you want to ask, then press Ask them for a review. Every customer gets the same fair invitation by e-mail (or text message where your installation offers it), with at most one reminder.

Updated 14 October 2026

Review booster is a tool you add to your plan. It suits any business with a Google Business Profile, whatever its website runs on.

Fair by design

Google does not allow asking only happy customers, sending unhappy ones somewhere else, or offering anything in return for a review. So every customer gets the same invitation. If you change the wording, SEOmise checks it and will not save text that breaks these rules, such as "if you were happy", "5 stars" or a discount.

Open Tools → Review booster → Settings. Under Your review link choose Use my Google Business Profile (when it is connected under Local) or Paste my review link: in your Business Profile choose "Ask for reviews" (or "Share review form") and copy the link. Only Google review addresses are accepted.

Here you also set your business name, logo and colour, the message, whether to offer a private message as well, the reminder, quiet hours and how many messages may go out per hour. Send me a test e-mail shows what customers receive.

2. Add customers

Under Customers, press Add one or Paste a list or upload a CSV (up to 2,000 at a time). You confirm that these are your own customers who agreed to be contacted; that confirmation is kept with each record. People on the "Never ask again" list are left out.

3. Send

Tick the people to ask and press Ask them for a review. Requests go out in the background, never during your quiet hours (20:00 to 09:00 unless you change them) and spread over each hour. Each customer gets at most one request and one reminder, sent after 2 to 14 days (5 by default) only if they have not opened the link or written to you.

Results

Results shows requests sent, review links opened, private messages, QR code scans and people who asked not to be contacted, week by week. With Google Business Profile connected, it also compares new Google reviews before and after you started. Google does not say who wrote a review, so treat this as a guide.

Every message includes a "Do not ask me again" link. Private messages arrive under Private messages and by e-mail, for your team only. Adding customers, changing settings and sending need the right to manage the project (Owner, Admin or SEO manager).
