Can I sign in or sign up with Google?

Continue with Google appears on the sign-in page, on the sign-up page (/start) and in the sign-up box on our website, once SEOmise has switched it on. While it is off you will not see the button: sign in with your e-mail address and password as usual.

Signing up with Google

1. Press Continue with Google and choose your Google account.
2. Back on SEOmise, your name and e-mail address are filled in. Add your mobile number and accept the terms.
3. Press Create account. There is no code to type: Google has already confirmed your address.

You do not choose a password. To have one as well, use Forgotten? on the sign-in page at any time. Everything else is the same as signing up with your e-mail address, including the plan step. While SEOmise is invite only, sign up with the address your invitation was sent to.

Signing in with Google

If you already have an account with the same confirmed e-mail address, your first Google sign-in links the two. From then on that Google account signs you in, even if its e-mail address changes later.

• Two-step sign-in is still asked for. Google only replaces your password. After a Google sign-in the second step is your authenticator app, a texted code or a recovery code: a code by e-mail and a remembered device are not offered, because your Google account usually holds that same inbox.
• Google can only be used with a Gmail address or a Google Workspace account (a work account your company runs on Google). A Google account made with another e-mail address cannot sign up or be linked to an account with that address, because Google cannot vouch that the address is still yours: use your e-mail address and password instead.
• An account that is suspended, waiting for approval or locked cannot sign in with Google either.
• An account linked to one Google account cannot be used with a different Google account.
• If the e-mail address of your SEOmise account was never confirmed, Google cannot be linked to it: sign in with your password, or reset it.

What SEOmise gets from Google

Only your name, your e-mail address (and that Google has confirmed it) and Google's id for your account. SEOmise never sees your Google password and asks for nothing else.
