How do I turn on two-step sign-in?
Short answerOpen Your account → Profile and sign-in → Two-step sign-in, press Turn on two-step sign-in, scan the QR code with an authenticator app and enter its 6-digit code. Then save the recovery codes you are shown.
Two-step sign-in asks for a 6-digit code from an app on your phone after your password. Someone who steals your password still cannot get in.
Turn it on
- Install an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy.
- Open Your account → Profile and sign-in and find Two-step sign-in.
- Press Turn on two-step sign-in.
- Scan the QR code with the app, or type the key into it.
- Enter the code the app shows and press Confirm.
- Save the recovery codes. They are shown only once.
Code refused? Check that the time on your phone is right, and use the newest code.
You can also set up two-step sign-in while you create your account. When SEOmise sends text messages, you can choose a code by text there instead of an app.
Recovery codes
- You get 8 codes. Each one signs you in once if you lose your phone.
- Keep them somewhere safe, away from your phone.
- To get new ones, enter your password and press New recovery codes. The old codes stop working.
Turning it off
Enter your password and press Turn off. Any remembered devices are forgotten. If two-step sign-in is required for your account, it cannot be turned off.
