Local publishers Beta
Local blogs and publications worth approaching, each with a fit score you can read

Why it matters
From the problem to what SEOmise does
The best local links are hard to find
Local blogs, papers and community sites send real readers and trust, but finding the ones that are local, relevant and still publishing takes hours of searching. Generic outreach lists are full of link farms, and two agencies e-mailing the same blogger in a week gets everyone ignored.
Local blogs and publications worth approaching, each with a fit score you can read
- Local first. Your town in a site's address or pages, the local searches it ranks in, or the same country: local sites come first.
- Ranks in your searches. Blogs and papers in the top ten of the searches you track, by place and date, from rank checks you already run.
- Links to your competitors. "Links to 3 of your 5 competitors": sites already open to businesses like yours, read from your link gap.
How it works
Four steps, start to finish
- FindWe look through your rank checks' top results, your competitors' links, Web watch and our approved catalogue for local blogs and publications.
- ScoreEach site gets a fit score from seven parts: local, relevant, links to competitors, publishing recently, quality, visibility and mentions.
- CheckWe read each site's home page and news feed politely to see that it is live and still publishing.
- ApproachAdd a site to your outreach list, your Prospect finder pipeline or invite it into the Publisher Network. You send every message yourself.
Features
What you get with Local publishers
Local first
Your town in a site's address or pages, the local searches it ranks in, or the same country: local sites come first.
Ranks in your searches
Blogs and papers in the top ten of the searches you track, by place and date, from rank checks you already run.
Links to your competitors
"Links to 3 of your 5 competitors": sites already open to businesses like yours, read from your link gap.
Already mentions you
Pages that name your business without a link, found by Web watch: the friendliest request you can make.
A score you can read
Every part of the fit score with the evidence behind it. A part with no evidence scores nothing: nothing is guessed, and nothing is promised.
Still publishing?
The date of each site's newest article from its feed, read politely within robots.txt, so you skip blogs that went quiet.
No link farms
Social networks, marketplaces, big directories and spammy sites never make the list, and paid links stay apart from earned ones.
Legal sign-off first
In Prospect finder every publisher campaign is signed off by a person before a single message goes out.
One approach at a time
A blogger another workspace contacted recently waits before anyone else may, and "do not contact" is respected everywhere.
Invite into the Publisher Network
A private invitation link that opens the network's join wizard with the site filled in, with consent recorded.

Questions
Local publishers: common questions
Does a high fit score mean the link will help my rankings?
No. The score helps you decide which sites to approach first, from the evidence shown. Nobody can promise how a search engine values a link or a mention.
Do you contact the sites for me?
No. You decide who to approach and you send every message yourself, from your mailbox or through Prospect finder after the legal sign-off.
Do you buy or exchange links?
No. Local publishers is for earned links and mentions. We never offer money or a link in return, and paid placements stay separate.
Why was a site not contactable?
It may have asked not to be contacted, or another workspace approached it recently. To spare site owners repeated approaches it waits for a while (90 days by default).
What does it cost to find them?
Nothing extra: discovery reads data already collected for your project and makes no paid search.
