Competitors found for searches you never saw

A competitor takes the visitors for searches you did not know existed, or sits a few places above you on ones you track. Comparing their positions by hand is slow and never complete.

  • Missing searches. Searches a competitor ranks for where you do not appear at all.
  • Searches where you are behind. You rank, but a competitor is at least a few places higher (the number is a setting).
  • Filters. Searches a month, difficulty, intent and position.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

  1. Name your competitorsThe competitors in the project's Search settings.
  2. See where you are missing or behindMissing: a competitor is in Google's results and you are not. Behind: you are there, but a competitor is a few places higher.
  3. Narrow it downFilter by searches a month, difficulty, intent and position.
  4. Act on itTick searches to follow them, put them in a topic for Keyword clusters, or export the list.

Keyword gap: common questions

Where do the figures come from?

From what SEOmise already stored: what your competitors were found to rank for, and the competitor positions in your own rank checks. Checking competitors again fetches their searches anew and uses one of your plan's refreshes.

What counts as "behind"?

You rank for the search, but a competitor is at least a few places higher: three unless SEOmise's settings say otherwise.

Can I use Keyword gap now?

Keyword gap is in beta: it is not on sale yet. Use Ask for early access and we will e-mail you as soon as it is ready for you. Other modules and the plans are on the pricing page.
