Like the way a competitor links its pages? Copy a linking pattern is a card on Web SEO → Internal links in each project. It works in five steps, one per screen.
1. Choose a source
- A competitor you track: its latest scan is read at once.
- Another of your projects: the latest scan of its website (only projects of your own workspace).
- Any other website: enter its address. SEOmise reads it with the same scan as your own site: public pages only, as its robots.txt allows, up to a page limit (150 pages by default, never more than your plan's pages per scan), and a few new addresses a day per workspace. Your own website cannot be the source. Once the pattern is read, the scan of the other site is not kept: only the pattern is.
2. The pattern
The source's pages are sorted into roles: home page, services hub, service pages, location pages, blog index, blog posts, reviews, about, contact, legal pages, category pages, product pages, gallery and FAQ. A role comes from the page's address, its title and main heading, its structured data (FAQPage, Review, Product, BlogPosting, Service) and the kind of page it says it is, the same content types See the magic groups the map by. Each page shows why it got its role and how sure SEOmise is.
The links between the roles become rules in plain words, for example "Each service page links to 3–5 related service pages in the text, with the page's name as the link text" or "Each blog post links to 1–2 service pages in the text". A rule is kept when enough of the source's pages follow it (half of them by default). Each rule says where the links sit (in the text, the menu or the footer) and opens its evidence: on how many pages it was seen, the links counted and example pages with the pages they link to. A small diagram shows the roles and the rules between them.
Where the scan did not record where each link sits, a link found on most pages counts as a menu or footer link.
3. Map your pages
Your own pages, from the latest scan of your site, are sorted into the same roles: "Your service pages: 12 found, check them". Open a role to see its pages, why each has its role and how sure SEOmise is, and change any page's role. Check the roles with AI suggests a role for the pages SEOmise is unsure of, with its confidence, for the credits shown; a suggestion is only shown, you choose whether to use it.
Under the roles, each rule says how your site follows it now, for example "Your service pages link to 1 related service page on average in the text; the pattern has 4", marked Follows it, Partly or Missing.
4. Review the links
Find the links to add proposes links on your pages from the rules your site follows least. Each link uses words already in one of your sentences, as every internal link suggestion does: nothing is rewritten. You see the sentence before and after, and accept or reject each link, or accept them all.
The limits (all settings): at most 3 new links on one page per run, 5 new links to one page, 200 links per run, and never more links than the pattern has (a page gets no more links to a role than the source's pages of that role, and no more links in its text than they have). Pages that cannot be indexed, redirect, answer an error, are another page's copy, have fewer than 150 words or are full of links already are never given new links. Legal pages are never linked in the text.
Links in the menu or footer are never changed for you: they are listed with the steps for your platform (WordPress, Shopify, Laravel, a site builder…), and the next scan shows whether your menu or footer now links to those pages.
5. Send to Changes
The links go to Changes as one change for approval. After approval your site connector (WordPress or Laravel) adds each link and checks the live page; on other platforms Changes gives you the steps and checks the page once you press Mark as done. Without Changes in your plan, the links are accepted and you add them by hand from the steps.
The links are ordinary internal link suggestions: they also show in Suggested new links on the Internal links page, and any of them can be undone from Sent and applied. Pressing Find links again there keeps them.
From See the magic
On See the magic, a page's card offers Copy this site's linking pattern: pick another of your projects, and the flow opens there with this site as the source.
Every limit and switch (the sources, the page limit and daily limit for new addresses, their price in credits, when a rule counts, the links per page and per run, the pattern's density, thin pages, the words that tell a page's role, menu and footer steps, the AI check) is a setting your SEOmise administrator can change: Settings → Policies → Internal links → Copy a linking pattern.
