What if SEOmise cannot change my website itself?

When this happens

SEOmise changes a website itself through a site connector: the WordPress plugin, the Laravel package or the PHP connector file for other PHP sites. It prepares the fix for you to make instead when:

• your site runs on a hosted platform such as Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or BigCommerce, or on anything else without a connector;
• no connector is paired yet;
• your connector does not make that kind of change yet, or its version is too old (SEOmise says which version you need);
• the site owner has not allowed that kind of change in the connector's settings;
• your plan prepares changes but does not include direct publishing.

The reason is shown with the fix.

What you get

• Steps in your platform's own words. On Shopify, for example: open the page, product or collection, scroll to "Search engine listing", choose Edit and paste the new title.
• The values to copy: each page, what to change and the new value, with Copy buttons.
• Files to download where they help: redirects in your server's or platform's format, a ready structured data block, smaller copies of your images.

Then SEOmise checks it

1. Make the change on your site.
2. Press Mark as done.
3. SEOmise opens the page (up to five pages per check), skipping caches, and looks for the change.
4. You see Seen on your live site, or Not seen yet with what SEOmise sees now. If your site caches pages, clear the cache, then press Check again.

Some changes cannot be seen from outside your site. For those, and for everything else too, the next scan shows whether the problem has gone.

Changes already in the queue

Changes in Plan & changes → Changes wait for a connector. To make one by hand, use the fix jar or the fix in the report, which give the steps and the values to copy.
