What does Indexing status show?
Short answerWeb SEO → Indexing status shows which of your pages search engines can find, read and index: a funnel from discovered to indexed, how fast new pages get indexed, pages at risk, the health of each folder and every page with what to do. You can ask Search Console to inspect pages within the daily allowance and add pages to the SEOmise sitemap. It works without Search Console, from the scan and the sitemaps.
Indexing status is under Web SEO in each project.
The funnel
Your pages from discovered, through in a sitemap, read by the scan and can be indexed, to crawled by Google, indexed and showing in search (with impressions). Each step says how many pages reached it and why the others did not.
What else it shows
- Index velocity: how long new pages take to be indexed.
- Pages at risk: pages likely to drop out, by kind (for example indexed but not crawled for a long time).
- Folders: the health of each part of the site.
- Pages: every page with its state. Select pages (or all) to Request inspection within your Search Console allowance for the day, Add to sitemap or Export CSV.
Fix steps are written for your site's platform. With Crawlers and bots set up, pages Google read but did not index, and important pages it never read, are shown too.
Without Search Console
The scan and your sitemaps fill in what they can, and the page says what is missing. Connect Search Console for Google's own answers.
