What do Fix, Improve and Info mean on the Issues list?

Short answerThey say how much a problem matters. Fix is serious (broken pages, pages nothing links to, missing titles), Improve is worth doing, and Info is good to know or to check.

Updated 14 October 2026

The three tags

Fix: serious problems that hold the whole site back.

  • Broken pages: linked from your site, but they answer with an error.
  • Pages nothing links to: in your sitemap, but no page on the site links to them.
  • Missing page title.

Improve: worth doing when you can.

  • Internal links that go through a redirect.
  • Buried pages: four or more clicks from the home page.
  • Missing meta description, or missing main heading (H1).
  • Duplicate page titles.
  • Thin pages: fewer than 150 words.
  • Slow to respond: the server took over 1.5 seconds to start answering.
  • No mobile viewport, so phones show the desktop layout shrunk down.
  • Canonical points elsewhere: search engines are asked to index another address.
  • Structured data that cannot be read, star ratings a business gives itself, and FAQ markup for questions that are not on the page.
  • Mixed content: secure pages that load files over plain http.

Info: good to know, and sometimes on purpose.

  • Images without alt text.
  • Pages missing from the sitemap.
  • Pages hidden from search engines (noindex). A thank-you page, for example, is often hidden on purpose.
  • Addresses blocked by robots.txt.

On a single page

When you open one page under Website health → Pages, its problems carry the same labels: Fix, Improve and Info. The list of pages counts each page's issues and how many are marked Fix.

In the Health report

The Health report grades every check across the whole site:

  • Pass: no page has the problem.
  • Improve: up to a quarter of the pages checked have it.
  • Fix: more than a quarter have it.
  • n/a: there was nothing to check.

Its "what to do first" list marks each item High, Medium or Low, from how much the check counts in the score and how many pages it affects.
