Do I need to connect my website, and how do I do it?
Short answerYou can scan any public website without connecting it. Connecting lets SEOmise publish the fixes you approve and count your visitors. WordPress, Laravel and PHP sites get a connector; every other platform adds one line of code.
Do I have to connect?
No. SEOmise can scan any public website without it. Connecting adds two things:
- Publishing: a site connector puts the fixes you approve live on your site, and can undo them.
- Visitors: a small tracker counts visits and shows who is on your site right now.
The ways to connect, by platform
- WordPress and WooCommerce: one click, or download the plugin. The one line of code also works, for visitors only.
- Laravel: the Laravel connector, or the PHP connector. Or the one line of code, for visitors only.
- CodeIgniter and other PHP sites (custom PHP, Symfony, CakePHP): the PHP connector, or the one line of code.
- Drupal and Joomla: the one line of code, or the PHP connector.
- Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Ghost, Framer, HubSpot, static sites, JavaScript apps (React, Vue, Next.js and others) and the rest: the one line of code. Fixes come ready for you to apply by hand, with steps for your platform.
Where to connect
- During set-up, on the Connect screen: I use WordPress, or Detect my platform. Detect for me looks at your site and picks the right way; Choose my platform lets you pick it yourself.
- Later: Start here → Connect the website → Connect now.
- Or: Settings → Site connector (connectors and pairing codes) and Settings → Install guide (steps for every platform, with your own code filled in).
Good to know
- Connectors that publish come with plans that include direct publishing. Visitor tracking comes with plans that include it. If something is not in your plan, the screen says so.
- Not ready? Press Scan my website without connecting and connect later.
- If a platform is not supported yet, set-up shows a waitlist. Press Remind me when it's ready and we e-mail you.
