What can each team role do?

Short answerThere are eight roles, from Owner (everything, including billing) to Viewer / client (read only). Owners and admins invite people under Your account → Team and choose a role for each.

Updated 14 October 2026

The roles

  • Owner: everything, including billing, deleting projects and choosing other owners.
  • Admin: projects, data, backlinks, publisher sites and the team. Not billing changes, and cannot change owners.
  • SEO manager: create projects, run scans and backlink checks, connect data, add competitors and plan link campaigns.
  • Approver: approve link spending up to the workspace's approval limit, Google Business Profile changes and scheduled posts. Reads everything.
  • Content editor: read everything, use the AI analysis, draft posts, replies and profile changes, and edit link briefs, content and anchors. Cannot publish or spend.
  • Analyst: read and export every map, audit, backlink profile and report. No changes.
  • Viewer / client: read projects and reports. No changes.
  • Billing manager: the plan, invoices, usage and approving link spending.

The Team page lists the same roles under What each role can do.

Invite someone

  1. Open Your account → Team (owners and admins).
  2. Enter their e-mail address under Invite by e-mail and choose a Role.
  3. Press Send invitation.

The link is valid for 7 days, for that e-mail address only. Use Send again or Withdraw under Pending invitations. If the e-mail could not be sent, the page shows the link for you to pass on.

People and pending invitations use your plan's seats. An address that already has an SEOmise account cannot be invited.

Change a role, or disable someone

  • Pick a new role in the person's row.
  • Disable stops their sign-in and signs them out at once. Enable lets them back in.
  • The Two-step column shows who has two-step sign-in on.

Only an owner can make someone an owner or change an owner, and a workspace always keeps at least one active owner.

Hand the workspace to someone else

The owner opens Your account → Profile and sign-in, finds Owner, chooses the New owner, enters their password and presses Make owner. The previous owner becomes an Admin.
