Who approves changes to my Google Business Profile?
Short answerEvery change SEOmise sends to your Google Business Profile is approved first. Open Local → Approvals to see what waits, approve or decline it with a reason, and set who approves: your team, your agency's customer through their portal, or either.
SEOmise talks to Google directly, so this works the same whatever your website is built with.
What needs an approval
- Profile edits and photos always need one.
- Posts need one unless you switch it off; review replies and answers to questions only when you switch it on.
- An approver's own change counts as their approval, so a one-person business is never held up. Tick Someone other than the person who asked must approve to ask for a second person.
Each approval records the exact change. If the change is edited afterwards, the approval no longer applies and it has to be approved again.
Approve or decline
- Open your project and go to Local → Approvals.
- Each change shows what Google has now and what it will be after.
- Press Approve and send, or Decline… and say why. The person who asked is told.
When a change is sent, SEOmise checks everything again first: the approval is still valid, the change is the one approved, the person who approved it still may, Google is still connected, and Google Business Profile is still part of your plan. If anything fails, nothing is sent and you are told why.
Agencies: your customer approves
If the project belongs to one of your customers (Agency → Clients), set Who approves to Your customer, through their portal. Your customer's contact needs the Approver role. They find the change in their portal under Google profile, approve or decline it with a reason, and you are told the outcome. People of another customer never see it.
Going out by itself after a notice period
You can let changes go out by themselves 48 hours to 7 days after they were asked for, unless someone declines them. The approvers are e-mailed 48 hours before, with a private link: it opens the change without signing in and lets them decline it. Declining stops it; nothing is sent. The business name, address, categories and service area never go out this way. A change nobody approved expires after 30 days.
Who can change the rule
Owners and admins, under Local → Approvals, for every location or only one. Nobody can approve or send changes while viewing as a customer.
