NAP stands for name, address and phone number. Local searches favour a business whose details are the same on every directory that lists it.
Set the canonical details
Open Analyse → Local → Citations (NAP). Under Canonical business details you see the one correct version every listing is compared with. It starts from your Google profile. Correct it if needed and press Save and recheck.
Add your listings
SEOmise does not search the directories for you: you tell it where you are listed. Under Add listings:
- Add one listing: the directory's name, the listing's web address and the name, address, phone and website it shows.
- Import CSV: the first line holds the column names, at least
source, thenurl, name, address, phoneandwebsite, followed by one listing per line, up to 500 per file. Exports from citation tools work once their columns are named like this.
Read the results
Every listing is marked Exact match, Acceptable variant (for example "St" instead of "Street"), Mismatch, Duplicate (more than one listing on the same directory) or Missing (no details recorded), with the differences shown. Correct a mismatch at the source by claiming or editing the existing listing. SEOmise never creates duplicate listings.
Citation opportunities
Once you have added listings, SEOmise suggests well-known, legitimate directories where it has no listing for you, such as Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, Facebook, Yelp and Foursquare, plus a few for Ireland, the UK and the US. Look for an existing listing first and claim it; create one only if none exists. These opportunities are also shared with link campaigns as citation placements.
Citations need Google Business Profile connected and a location attached.
