How do link campaigns work, and when am I charged?
Short answerUnder Links → Campaigns you set an objective and a budget, SEOmise proposes scored placements from the connected link providers, and someone with approval rights approves the exact total before anything is ordered. Nothing is charged before approval.
Link campaigns are an add-on and need a link provider connected on your installation. If none is connected, Links → Link opportunities says so.
1. Build a plan
- Open Links → Campaigns and press New campaign.
- Choose the objective and fill in what you know: target pages, keyword cluster, sector, country, language, budget and budget period, price range, authority and traffic floors, link types and attribute, anchor strategy, and who writes the content (the provider, an SEOmise brief or article, or you).
- Press Create campaign, then Generate plan. SEOmise reads your current links and anchors, searches the connected providers and proposes a shortlist, each placement with Why this score. Change it as you like.
2. Approve
- Set a budget before asking for approval: paid ordering needs one.
- Choose an approval mode: Campaign total, Every order or Threshold-based (totals at or above your threshold need a password confirmation).
- The approver sees each placement, the subtotal and the Total to approve, ticks every item and approves. The price is locked for a limited time; if it runs out, approval is asked for again.
- Approvers can approve up to the workspace's approval limit; larger totals need an owner, admin or billing manager. Owners, admins and billing managers also set a monthly spend cap under Links → Link health.
3. Order and delivery
After approval and any payment step, someone with approval rights places the orders. Orders follows each order with the provider until the link is delivered and verified. Live placements shows each delivered link as SEOmise found it (the live address, the anchor asked for and the one found, the attribute and whether the page can be indexed) and keeps checking it.
If something goes wrong
You can cancel a placement or the whole campaign; committed orders are cancelled with the provider where it allows, and refunds are credited. Use Dispute if a link was removed, not delivered, or has the wrong target page or anchor text.
Good to know
Google's spam policies can treat paid links meant to influence rankings as link spam. SEOmise always shows whether a placement is paid and its link attribute. With Compliance Mode on, paid dofollow placements are flagged as higher risk and left out of automatic plans.
