How do I find sites that link to my competitors but not to me?
Short answerOpen Links → Competitor gaps. It lists websites that link to your competitors but not to you. Approve the relevant ones, then add them to outreach to earn a link yourself, or start a paid campaign if link campaigns are in your plan.
Before you start
- Add your competitors under Settings → Project settings → Competitors.
- On Links → Links overview, run a backlink check with Include competitors ticked.
- Measured gap websites need a backlink data provider on your installation. Without one, the page offers AI estimates instead, labelled as estimates.
Work through the list
- Open Links → Competitor gaps. Each row is a website, with the competitors it links to, its domain rank and spam score.
- Filter by To decide, Approved or Dismissed, by competitor and by minimum domain rank.
- Approve the websites that suit your business and dismiss the rest.
Earn the link (outreach)
Press Add to outreach (earned). The Outreach (earned) tab keeps track of each prospect, and Add a site by hand adds one yourself. A prospect becomes Won (link found) by itself when a backlink check finds a live link from that site.
Or pay for a placement
Paid campaign (marketplace) creates a draft link campaign. Nothing is ordered until it is planned and approved. Paid and earned links are tracked separately.
Quick comparison
The Quick comparison tab gives AI estimates of authority and referring domains for your site, your competitors and any other domains you type in. Treat them as estimates.
