What can the site connector change, and what can't it?

Short answerA connector publishes only the changes you approve, and each one can be undone. The WordPress connector does the most; the Laravel and PHP connectors do most of the same. The one line of code only counts visitors.

What every connector does

  • It publishes only changes someone has approved in SEOmise, and each one can be undone from SEOmise.
  • It adds the visitor tracker to your pages.
  • The site owner decides what SEOmise may change: on the Permissions tab of the SEOmise screen in WordPress, the scopes list in the Laravel config, or SEOMISE_SCOPES in the PHP file. SEOmise refuses to publish a change whose permission is not allowed.

WordPress connector

Page titles and descriptions (into Yoast SEO, Rank Math or SEOPress when one is active, otherwise its own tags), structured data, image alt text, internal links, page text, new pages and blog posts, sharing tags and footer links, redirects, accessibility fixes, speed fixes and the llms.txt file. It sends a health pulse every five minutes and updates itself.

New pages are created as drafts unless the site owner allows Publish new pages.

Laravel connector

Titles and descriptions, internal links, structured data, sharing tags and footer links, page text, image alt text, redirects, accessibility fixes, speed settings and the llms.txt file, with a health pulse through Laravel's scheduler. New pages, blog posts and your image library only when your app implements those optional parts.

PHP connector

Titles, descriptions, canonical and robots tags, structured data, sharing tags and footer links, accessibility fixes and speed settings, applied as each page is sent. Redirects too, where your site's missing pages run through PHP. It does not change image alt text, internal links or page text, and does not create pages or posts. Pages served without PHP are not changed.

What no connector does

  • It never makes a change nobody approved.
  • The one line of code only counts visitors. It never changes your pages.
  • Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and other hosted platforms have no connector yet. Their fixes come ready for you to apply, with steps.

When a fix cannot be published

SEOmise says why in plain words, for example "Your Laravel connector does not do this yet", or that an older connector version needs updating. You then get the fix ready to apply by hand.
