Open a project, then Act → Content → Content calendar (it sits next to Articles). While the content calendar is not switched on for your workspace it shows Beta with Ask for early access.
The month
Each day shows what is planned on it: an article or a page, with its state. Previous, This month and Next move through the months; List shows the month as a list. An item past its date that is not published or skipped is marked Overdue. On a phone the month becomes a list of the days that hold something. Not on a date yet lists the items without a date.
Suggestions
Suggestions lists what you could write next, from your own project (no paid look-ups):
- your keyword clusters with at least two searches (a platform setting), the clusters with the most searches first. A cluster whose searches are mostly from people ready to buy (commercial or transactional, a setting) is suggested as a page; any other as an article;
- the questions you saved from the Wonderwheel ("Your ideas") that no article answers yet.
Anything already in the calendar is left out. Tick the ones you want, choose the date to start from and press Plan these for me: they go on the planning days at the planning pace (two a week, on Tuesday and Thursday, unless your platform chose otherwise), around what each week already holds. Without a date adds one to the calendar without a date.
Add an item yourself
Under Add an item, type a title, choose article or page and, if you like, a date.
Open an item
Press an item to open it on the right. Change its title, kind, date, state (planned, writing, published or skipped), main search and notes, and choose who it is assigned to. Moving it to a new date sends a new reminder. Delete takes it off the calendar.
An item handed to Articles or the Page Factory becomes published on its own when its article goes live (through the site connector, hosted publishing, or I published it once the live check sees it) or its Page Factory page is published. A published item is not overdue and gets no reminder.
Hand it on
- Make a draft article makes a draft in Articles with the item's title, main search and notes, and marks the item as writing. Write it there, yourself or with AI, and approve it: Articles publishes through your site connector on WordPress, Laravel or the universal PHP connector, or gives you the article with the exact steps for any other platform. Pressing it again opens the same draft.
- Send to the Page Factory (pages only) adds the item as a service in the Page Factory after you tick The business really offers this; the Page Factory then asks where you work and builds the pages for you to check.
- Neither switched on? Write the piece in your website's editor (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow or any other), publish it and set the item's state to Published; the next scan checks the page.
A question from the Wonderwheel records what was done with it, as the Wonderwheel's own buttons do.
Reminders
A reminder e-mail goes out a few days before an item's date (two by default, a platform setting), once per date: to the person it is assigned to, or else to the people in your team who can write in the project. Untick E-mail a reminder on an item to stop its reminder. People limited to some projects only hear about the projects they can see.
Who can do what
Anyone who can see the project sees the calendar. Planning, editing and handing items on need the right to propose changes. Each project keeps up to 500 items (a platform setting).
For staff
Every value is a setting under Settings → Policies → Content calendar: items a week and the planning days, how many suggestions show, the smallest cluster suggested, the intents that suggest a page, the most items a project keeps and a plan places at once, reminders on or off and how many days before. The reminder e-mail is the trigger "Content calendar: an item is due soon" in the e-mail centre.
Suggestions from your other tools
Besides keyword clusters and saved questions, the calendar suggests:
- Losing visitors: pages Content refresh found losing clicks or places on Google, the most clicks lost first, as an update to plan;
- AI answers: questions the newest AI visibility check found answered without naming you, as an article;
- Content brief: ready content briefs that have no article yet.
Without a date or Plan these for me adds them with where they came from and why, in the item's notes. A suggestion already in the calendar is not suggested again. Each kind shows only while your workspace has that tool.
