What is Day 0, and can I change it?

Short answerDay 0 is your website's starting point: the first scan that ran to the end. Every later scan is compared with it, and it never moves.

Updated 14 October 2026

How Day 0 is set

The first scan of your website that runs to the end becomes Day 0 by itself. It is never replaced. It is also always kept, even when older scans are removed after the time your plan keeps history.

Where you see it

  • Website health → Health overview ("Day 0 → today"): the health score now and the change since Day 0, the figures on each tile, the health line over time, Wins since Day 0 (checks that affect fewer pages now) and the list of scans, with Day 0 tagged.
  • Overview → SEOmise score and Overview → Growth compare today with Day 0 too.

The permanent Day 0 snapshot

Under Plan & changes → Set-up & Day 0 you can also capture a Day 0 baseline. It keeps the first complete scan together with the Google, visit and ranking data that is connected at that moment.

  1. Wait for the first scan to finish. The step shows its progress.
  2. If you want Google data in it, connect Search Console or your other Google data first. You can also capture Day 0 from the scan alone.
  3. Press Capture Day 0 baseline and confirm.

It can be captured once. It cannot be changed or replaced afterwards, and data imported later is not added to it. Owners, admins and SEO managers can capture it.

Reading the changes

Changes since Day 0 are what SEOmise measured. They show what moved alongside your work, not proof that one thing caused the other.
