How is my website's availability worked out?

Short answerWebsite watch shows availability on a careful method: time nobody checked counts against the site, the share of the time that was checked is shown beside it, and a figure appears only when enough was checked. A failed check is confirmed by a second attempt before it counts, maintenance windows you set ahead are left out, and related alerts are grouped into one notice.

Updated 17 October 2026

Open Website watch for the project. The Availability card shows three figures:

  • Available: over the period, with time nobody checked counted against the site.
  • When checked: how often the site answered when SEOmise looked.
  • Time checked: the share of the expected time that was checked, with how many checks were up, down or not made.

Below them: the last 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days.

When a figure appears

A preliminary figure appears after a day of watching and the full figure after a month; nothing before watching started is counted. When too little of the time was checked, no figure is shown, only how much was checked.

Fewer false alarms

  • A failed check is tried again a few seconds later; the time counts as down only when the second attempt fails too.
  • Maintenance windows: set them ahead of time. Down time inside them is not counted and raises no alert.
  • Related alerts are grouped into one notice.

Checks run from SEOmise's server; the card says where.
