How do I bring several workspaces into one agency account?

Short answerThe owner of the workspace that should pay opens the profile menu → Agency account and asks the owners of the other workspaces to join. Once each owner approves, the workspaces share one plan, one bill and one pool of credits, and every project stays where it is.

What an agency account is

An agency account joins several SEOmise workspaces together without moving or copying any data. One workspace is the primary. Its plan, limits, monthly allowances and credits are used by every workspace in the group, so you get one bill and one pool of credits.

The owners and admins of the primary workspace can open the projects of every joined workspace and manage the people in it.

Start one

  1. Sign in as the owner of the workspace that should pay. Only the owner can start an agency account.
  2. Open your profile menu → Agency account.
  3. If SEOmise found other workspaces from your company e-mail domain, press Invite them to join. Otherwise type the e-mail address of the other workspace's owner and press Send request.
  4. Each owner gets an e-mail with a link to approve. The link works for 7 days. Requests still waiting are listed under Add a workspace.

What happens when an owner approves

The owner who is asked sees what joining means before they choose Approve and join or Decline. Declining changes nothing. Approving means:

  • Their projects stay where they are, with all their data and history.
  • Their own subscription ends and billing moves to the agency. Unused top-up credits join the agency's pool.
  • The logins of that workspace are paused, including the owner's, who is signed out. The agency admin turns logins back on.
  • The agency can take the workspace out again later.

Working across the workspaces

Once workspaces have joined, Agency account lists them with their projects and people:

  • Open projects works inside another workspace. A bar at the top shows where you are, with a button to go back to your own.
  • Turn login on or Pause login for each person in a joined workspace. People whose login is on see their own projects as before.
  • Take out removes a workspace from the agency. It goes back to its own logins and billing, and needs its own plan to keep working.

People in a joined workspace see that it is part of the agency account and that plan, logins and credits are managed by the agency's admin.

Good to know

  • A workspace that runs an agency of its own cannot join yours, and a workspace that is part of another agency cannot start one.
  • Credits left for the whole agency show on the same page.
