How do I change my password?

Short answerOpen Your account → Profile and sign-in → Password and press E-mail me a link to change it. The link asks for your two-step code (if it is on), then your new password. Every other device is signed out afterwards.

Updated 14 October 2026

For your safety a password change goes through your e-mail. Someone who gets hold of a signed-in browser still cannot change your password.

Change it

  1. Open Your account → Profile and sign-in and find Password.
  2. Press E-mail me a link to change it. We send a link to your sign-in address. It works for 60 minutes.
  3. Open the link. If two-step sign-in is on, enter your code first.
  4. Enter the new password twice and press Save the password.

If you open the link in the browser where you are signed in, you stay signed in there. Every other device is signed out, remembered devices are forgotten, and we e-mail you that the password changed.

What makes a good password

At least 12 characters; a short sentence works well. With the standard settings it must also not appear in a known data breach, or be one of your recent passwords.

Asked to choose a new password?

If you signed in with a one-time password from SEOmise, or your password has to be renewed, the Account page asks you to choose a new one before you carry on. Enter your current password and the new one, then press Change password.
