How do I list my business on directories and follow each listing?

Short answerUnder Analyse → Local → Citations (NAP), Directory listings shows each directory you are listed on or working on, from to do to live. Where to list the business next shows the directories, business profiles, associations, chambers, partner pages and journalist services our team checked for your country, town and category, each with its steps. Our team can also do it for you, after you approve each directory.

About Citations and NAP: a citation checker that keeps your name, address and phone the same everywhere

Updated 26 October 2026

Listing a business is done on each directory's own website, so it works the same whatever your website runs on (WordPress, Laravel, any other platform or a hosted builder). SEOmise gives you the steps, keeps track of each listing and reads it once it is live.

Where to list the business next

Under Where to list the business next are sources our team checked and approved for your country, town and category, grouped by type: business profiles (such as Bing Places), directories, trade and professional associations, chambers and business groups, supplier or partner pages (a "where to buy" page of a brand you sell), journalist request services (answer a reporter's question and be quoted) and local blogs and publications. Each shows its cost and turnaround when we know them. None of them asks you to link back: we never use sources that do. Press Add to my list to start one.

Follow each listing

Directory listings shows every listing with its status: To do, Submitted, Waiting for the directory, Published, Rejected by the directory or Removed, and who does it (you or our team). Open a row for the directory's steps, then:

  • press I have submitted it once you sent it, and The directory is reviewing it if it waits for their check;
  • paste The live listing's address and press It is live: it must be an address on that directory's own site;
  • add a screenshot as proof if you like (PNG, JPEG or WebP).

A live listing joins your citations below and is compared with your business details. Our crawler also reads its page to confirm your details, and any link to your website. Each listing exists once per directory: adding it again opens the same one.

Done for you

With Local directory listings, done for you, our team prepares one listing per directory (up to ten, the most relevant first, never a directory you are already on). Each waits for an owner, admin or approver of your workspace to press Approve this listing (or Decline); our team submits it only then, and you see each one move on. Staff names are never shown: our work reads Our team.

Under Pages that mention you without a link are pages our checks read that name the business but do not link to your website. Draft a link request puts the site on your outreach list (Off-page SEO → Competitor gaps) with a short, friendly request you can edit and Copy. You send it yourself; nothing is paid and no link is offered in return.

What a listing is worth

Some directories link to your website, many mark the link nofollow, and some show no link. A listing helps people and search engines find the same details about your business everywhere; SEOmise never promises a link or a ranking.
