Before you start
- Search Console is connected for the project (Settings → Connections → This project) and Google data is part of your plan.
- Your assistant is connected to SEOmise (see "How do I connect Claude or another AI assistant to SEOmise?"). When you connect it, tick Search Console; tick Inspect addresses in Search Console too if it may run Google's URL Inspection. An assistant connected before these were offered does not have them: connect it again, or make a new connection token, and tick them.
What you can ask
Ask in your own words, for example "Which questions bring visitors to my site?" or "Which pages lost clicks this month?". The assistant uses these tools with the project id from list_projects:
- search_console_query: clicks, impressions, click rate and position split by search term, page, country, device, date or search appearance, for any period of the last 16 months (the last 28 days by default, ending three days ago because Search Console's figures arrive late). Filters use Search Console's own operators: equals, does not equal, contains, does not contain, and patterns that match or do not match (the same rules as the pattern filter on the Google data screen).
- search_console_compare: the same figures for two periods side by side, with the change: the period before, the same days a year earlier, or dates you choose. It lists what lost or gained most.
- search_console_page_queries: the searches that showed one page (its address or its path).
- search_console_query_pages: the pages Google showed for one search, useful when two pages compete.
- search_console_indexing_issues: from the URL inspections SEOmise already stored: pages indexed and not, Google's reasons with example addresses, pages not crawled for a long time and canonical disagreements.
- search_console_inspect_urls: Google's URL Inspection for a few addresses of your property (10 a request by default). It uses the property's daily inspections: assistants may use 100 a day per property by default, never more than what is left of the daily budget. An address inspected in the last 24 hours is answered from the stored result unless the assistant asks for a fresh one.
- search_console_sitemaps: the sitemaps Google knows, when each was submitted and read, and their errors and warnings.
- list_search_patterns: the ready-made patterns filled for the project (questions, brand only, without your brand, long searches, buying intent, local searches, one folder, blog posts, pages with a ?) and the patterns saved in SEOmise. The other tools take a ready-made pattern by its key, or a saved one by its id.
Ready-made questions
Assistants that show prompts offer four: Which questions bring visitors?, Searches without the brand: clicks lost this month, Pages that lost clicks and Why is this page not indexed? (give the page's full address).
Live or stored
The assistant asks Search Console live by default, so it can split figures any way Search Console can. Your administrators can switch live answers off: the assistant then reads the figures SEOmise imports every day, which hold search terms, pages, search terms with pages, devices, countries and search terms with countries.
Limits and safety
- Read-only: nothing is added, removed or submitted in Search Console.
- An answer holds up to 50 rows (the full lists stay on the Google data screen, with Export CSV); periods of up to 16 months.
- Each connection may ask Search Console live 120 times an hour, on top of its limit a minute. A live answer is reused for an hour for the same question.
- Each connection sees only its workspace and its projects. Every call is listed under Recent calls.
- Search Console does not charge for these questions; they use Google's own quota for your property.
Every platform works the same way: the data is Google's, whether your site runs on WordPress, Laravel, the universal connector or is managed by hand.
Platform administrators set these limits (rows, the longest period, live answers on or off, the hourly limit, how long an answer is reused, inspections a request and a day, and how long an inspection is reused), and can switch the Search Console tools off, under Settings → Policies → AI assistants (MCP).
